West Side Shock Information
What is the West Side Shock?
West Side Shock is a running club for athletes interested in sprinting events. It allows sprint athletes to continue to develop their skills during the off season and prepare for the high school track and field season. For information about off season distance running for Taylorsville High athletes, click here. Who can participate? The club is available for anyone who attends a school on the west side of Granite School District and is ages 8-18 years old. You DO NOT have to be a high school student. Junior high and even elementary school students over the age of 8 can participate. Where does it happen at? Practices are held at Taylorsville High School. During the winter when it gets to cold, practices are moved to the Kearns Olympic Oval. What is the cost? It is FREE to practice with the West Side Shock. We believe that all athletes, no matter what their financial situation, should have the ability to continue developing their athletic skills. The only fees for the West Side Shock are ones charged to the team in order to practice and compete. These include the following:
